Supposedly this is given as a puzzle during job interviews in Japan but I don't buy that. Thanks Aaron for passing this along. It took me awhile to figure it out but finishing it was satisfying, let me know what you think...
Goal: Everyone cross the Shinano River
Rules:
~Only the Adults (mom, dad, policeman) can operate the raft
~Dad can not be in the presence of the girls w/out Mom
~Mom can not be in the presence of the boys w/out Dad
~The thief can not be alone with any of the family members

Dave, I've tried over and over again...I think this puzzle is impossible! Or perhaps I'm just a little slow... :)

Tip: the cop and thief must cross the river three times.

Hint #1
You must start by crossing with the Cop and the Crook - ok, you probably already knew that didn't you?
Hint #2
The very last move also consists of moving the Cop and Crook across the river.
Hint #3
You can move the Dad, boys across first, or the Mom, girls across first - it's up to you.

Select Cop and Boy, cross
